He was also the #2 salesperson on the Big Island for 2000 and 2001 and has consistently ranked with the top agents on the island over the last decade.

Ric’s career in luxury real estate launched in 1996 when he convinced Haas & Haynie (a San Francisco development firm established in 1898) and Farallon Capital Management (private equity fund) to acquire the remaining 44 units at The Island at Mauna Lani at the bottom of the market cycle 5 years after the collapse of the Japanese bubble. The units had sat unsold for the previous five years through 3 different failed marketing campaigns.

After the successful sell out of the Islands, Ric soon established a reputation as the individual broker who could sell what the biggest companies in the state could not. He was hired by Wall Street investment firm Kennedy Wilson to handle the sale of the 3,000 acres across from the Mauna Lani Resort, by Finance Enterprises of Honolulu to help with the disposition of all their assets on the Big Island and by private parties to sell their individual estates.

Ric’s strong suit is research and analysis enabling him to give a greater perspective to his clients. He specializes in resort properties, large estates, and commercial opportunities, and his true love....oceanfront properties predominately in North and South Kohala. As a 38-plus year resident of the Big Island, his market scope extends beyond currently listed properties, and in order to meet the investment parameters of his clients, he often focuses on properties that are not openly listed for sale.
